Instructional Rates

Orientation Flight
  • 1 hour dual + 1 hour ground = $375

Private Pilot ASES Add-on:

Includes glassy, normal, and rough water takeoffs and landings, idle, step, and plow taxiing. Also included is docking, beaching, ramping, and sailing.

Seaplane

  • 5 hours total flight time that includes:​ = $2475

    • 4 hours dual instruction

    • 1 hour checkride

    • Ground Instruction

    • Examiner Fee

Commercial Pilot ASES Add-on:

Instructional Rates

Flight instruction prices:

$185/hr wet with instructor. (Block rates available on request)

Instruction in owner’s aircraft: $75/hr

Private Pilot Cost Breakdown:

FAA minimum requirements per FAR 61.109:

  •  40 hours total flight time that includes:​​

    • 30 hours dual @ $185/hour = $5,550

    • 10 hours solo @ $1,350

  • Required Books & Supplies = $50

  • FAA written exam = $150

  • Check ride (3 hr + examiner fee) = $1000

  • Total Cost for Private Pilot Certificate = $8,100

  • 40 hours total flight time @ $185/hour = $7,400

  • 20 hours ground @ $50/hour = $1,000

  • Required Books & Supplies = $50

  • FAA written exam = $150

  • Total Cost for Instrument Certificate = $9,600

Commercial Pilot Cost Breakdown:

FAA minimum requirements per FAR 61.129:

  • 250 hours total flight time, 50 of which must be in an airplane.

  • 100 hours PIC, of which 50 hours must be in an airplane.

Numbers below are for a student with a Private Airplane rating and Instrument rating:

  • 150 hours solo @ $135/hour = $20,250

  • 20 hours ground @ $50/hour = $1,000

  • Required Books & Supplies = $50

  • FAA written exam = $150

  • Check ride (3 hr + examiner fee) = $1000
